How We Got Into Rockies

Little did we know that when we had Sue Wells bring a horse to the house for Myranda’s fourth birthday in 1992, that we would spark an intense love that would lead to Copper Creek farm.  With our first equine purchase in 1994, we didn’t start out as a farm by any means.  We were Three E Horses, having all our horses in training with Sue at Prince Albert Stables.  Myranda’s love for competition expanded which led to purchasing more Rockies.  We had to have at least one for each of us!  Soon after our increase of Rockies , Papa’s boat became Papa’s horse trailer as our collection of Rockies kept growing.  With five horses, we decided to buy a farm in 2003.

Myranda, as most of you know, has had quite the successful show career as a student of Sue.  She has won multiple titles in both youth and amateur divisions in classes that include Showmanship, Equitation, Western, Trail, Classic, Park, and even some in Open Mares and Stallions classes.  She loves being in Amateur classes, but misses being known as the Showmanship and Equitation Queen.

Myranda has moved to Richmond, KY to pursue a career in dentistry.  Of course, she will keep showing her horses as that is her true passion in life. She keeps working to improve her riding ability and has recently started riding Saddlebreds as well. She is a member of the Junior League of Lexington and currently serves on the board for the Kentucky Horse Council and as Secretary for Miss Rodeo Ky, Inc. As for Myra and Andy, they will keep taking care of the horses here on the farm and supporting their daughter both in and out of the show ring. Currently our show horses are in training at Lyon Stables with Shaun Lyon. Shaun has done a fabulous job with our horses and we are blessed to have him working with our horses.
